Just a reminder that midterms are tomorrow and Wednesday.  Students will follow a block schedule and take exams in 1st and 2nd period Tuesday, and 3rd and 4th period Wednesday.

Today in class we played trivia.  The top teams from each class period will earn 3 extra points on the midterm.  The questions are below:
Friday will be a recovery day.  Students failing (gifted failing is 73 and below, everyone is is 69 and below) and those with missing work or mastery grades to complete will recover the second half of the day in a study hall.  Students with no mastery to complete, no missing work, and passing all academics will get to watch a movie!

Because student grades were so AWESOME on the test, we are going to use the idea survivor technique for our next unit: plate tectonics.

Some students lost the study guide given out Thursday, which was due today.  Here are the documents that made the study guide.  Be sure you have all four sections.

Today we began reading about Earth and Earth's layers.  Be sure by the time you come to class tomorrow, you have read AND annotated pages 113-126 in your IT.  Be sure you are starting important items in case we play survivor :)

The questions are NOT for homework, but you are welcome to get started.

Lost your IT?  You can print out pages by going to my eclass, the online textbook, and then student resources.

Today we took our ecology test.  No homework over the weekend!

If you are a student that needs to complete mastery for tests or replacement essays for low scores on anything else, BE PREPARED.  Starting TUESDAY you may be pulled during DEAR/lunch/connections to work on these essays or take mastery quizzes for tests.

You have been warned! :)

In class today we discussed ways we can conserve energy in our homes:
  1. compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs)
  2. insulation in attics and walls (the pink stuff!)
  3. Double-paned windows

You can also play an awesome game online to practice conserving resources:
Energy Hogs
