Vocabulary flash cards due tomorrow. Please use the following format:
Front: word and picture Back: definition and sentence using the word If you bring in flash cards, I will give you a ring to keep them together (if you want it) :) 1. Erosion 2. Water Cycle 3. Evaporation 4. Condensation 5. Precipitation 6. Percolation 7. Runoff 8. Watershed 9. Load 10. Deposition Below are the handouts and notes from today's class. Most classes did not get very far since we reviewed the Water Cycle Boogie and also got new seats, but we will hopefully finish them tomorrow in time for Friday's quiz!
Remember that your lab or the lab alternative assignment (for students not turning in work on Friday) is due TOMORROW. There are a few changes to the lab - I noticed an error. Please change questions 2 and 3 accordingly: 2. What must happen in order for condensation to take place? Give two examples of condensation. 3. What is transpiration? If you print the boogie slides, print 6 to a page to have them be the correct size!
Students that do not turn in homework today are being recorded and will have an alternate assignment in place of the lab Monday.
Today we took a quiz and watched a video about the water cycle. Students should take notes on page 70 in their composition books. I am working on getting the video uploaded. So far I haven't had any luck. I'll add it if I am able. Welcome back! I'm sure you are all excited that every single one of you currently has STRAIGHT As! When you begin the semester, you have a clean slate and get to start over. It's an incredible opportunity to take advantage of! Tonight you have two homework assignments. You need to complete the goal sheet with your parents and the distribution of water half sheet. The goal sheet needs to have 3-sentence descriptors when describing goals. The water sheet should be colored and the questions answered in complete sentences. Both pages are due tomorrow. Failure to bring them will result in you missing out on Monday's lab. Field trip money is now late. A few students still haven't paid for the the Aquarium trip (coming up soon - I need the money YESTERDAY) and several have made zero payments toward Rock Eagle, and two payments were due before the break. IF STUDENTS DON'T BRING IN PAYMENTS THE FIELD TRIP COULD BE CANCELLED FOR ALL STUDENTS. I am happy to work out a different payment plan with each individual, but it is necessary SOMETHING is sent to hold a spot for that child. Please feel free to email me at [email protected] with questions or concerns. I'm also attaching the permission slips again in case they are hard to find...
