Regional Fair Information
The regional fair is Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Gwinnett Center. Students will meet at Richards at 7:30 that morning to ride the bus there and back. Students will return to RMS around 3:00.
The science fair is open to the public from 4:00 until 7:30PM that evening, and there is an awards ceremony from 7:30-8:30PM. Parents are to provide their own transportation for students for this portion of the night. It is not mandatory that you attend, but it is really fantastic. Students will take home their display boards at this time as well.
Lunch is provided at the science fair, but students will not be provided breakfast on this day. Please plan accordingly.
Dress is professional for children. There should be absolutely no jeans or sweats. Proper attire includes dress pants and collared shirts, or dresses for girls.
ALL PAPERWORK IS DUE TO MS. SHAVER NO LATER THAN TUESDAY FEBRUARY 5TH.

Please pay careful attention to what needs to be signed and by who. Some documents need to be dated before your experiment began. When in doubt, LEAVE THE DATE BLANK.
Below please find the forms you need to fill out (in case you lost yours). Remember that you must also submit your research plan AND your final paper in addition to the 7 forms.

Abstract
After you have completed your research and experiment, you will write an abstract. This is a general summary of your entire project and should NOT include more than 250 words. Your abstract needs to include:
- The purpose of the experiment
- The procedures used
- Data and conclusions
- Your abstract should NOT include acknowledgements to others for help OR any work/procedures done by a mentor/teacher/parent.
Display Board
Display Board Tips
Do not begin display board until experiment is complete and you receive teacher approval
Thanksgiving Break is a great time to get your display board in top shape
This is merely a suggestion for arrangement. Do what works best for your project. Be sure to include all components
Lay out your project BEFORE you attach it to the board!
Rubber Cement works better than glue! (Glue can cause papers to wrinkle and bleed!)
Be sure your charts and display are neat and simple!
If you have any further questions, be sure to ask your science teacher!
